Oliver was excited to see Daddy with the snowblower outside - Daddy was equally excited about the snowblower, as he pretty much cleared every sidewalk in the neighborhood.
This blog is dedicated to keeping friends and family updated about all the goings on of the Tourville-Reitan family and our adventures in Minneapolis. Enjoy!

One Small Step for Oliver...One Giant Leap....
Matt's Aunt Mary and Aunt Elaine came over for dinner tonight and brought Oliver a fantastic astronaut suit. Oliver loved it! He was admiring himself in the mirror and running around the house very excited about his new look. The suit was a little big, so we put his coat underneath to fill it out, which only made it look even more like an actual astronaut suit. Based on how much he loved this, I see a lot of dress up in our future.

A Visit from RaRa and Ky
Aunt Sarah and her boyfriend Kyle came to visit last week. Unfortunately Oliver ended up getting sick for much of the time that they were here, but he was healthy for the first few days of their visit and we crammed a lot of fun into those first few days.
We all were able to go to Oliver's first Twins game - lots of fun! He only made it to the 7th inning before he started getting pretty wiggly and sleepy, and his favorite part may have been walking around the concourse, but still a great time.
Also, Sarah and Kyle (or RaRa and Ky according to Oliver) were able to take Oliver to Como Park. From the reports it sounds like a good time was had by all.
We were suppose to also take part in a big family trip to the State Fair, but missed out because of a high fever and tonsillitis - so Oliver's first State Fair will have to be next year... it's a bummer because Matt and I were really looking forward to taking him down the Giant Slide.

Windom Neighborhood Festival
Memories of Grandview Lodge
While we were up North we stopped by Grandview Lodge for dinner and to reminisce about the wonderful times we had there over the years with Grandma Helen. Just being at Grandview brought back so many memories of fantastic times. Grandma was so fun and witty and wonderful. We sure miss her and I wish Oliver had the chance to know her.
More from Breezy Point
Trip to Breezy Point
We just returned from a great week up at Breezy Point. It was so nice to get away and spend a whole week of uninterrupted time with Oliver. We had a blast swimming in the pool and at the beach.
Matt was only able to come up for the first half of the week and then had to return to work, so Nana and Pop (Oliver's new name for Grandpapa) joined us for the remainder of the week.
I think Oliver got used to the idea of waking up with a morning swim and his Nana and Pop around. On the last day at the resort he woke up and the first thing he said to me was "Nana, Pop, Pool?"

Dinner at Melanie's
Our good friend Melanie has opened her house for the month of August to anyone wanting to come for dinner any night of the week. She is blogging about it at www.opendinnertable.blogspot.com We went for dinner tonight and had a lovely time. Melanie made pasta from scratch with a vegetable sauce fresh from her garden and delicious bruschetta with home grown tomatoes. Oliver had a great time running around the yard and chatting with the backyard chickens.
