New Trick

Oliver has discovered his feet and he can't get enough of them. This last week he has started to suck his big toe, which will make his Grandma Sue very happy!

Splish Splash Oliver Is Taking A Bath

Oliver absolutely loves bath time. When he takes a bath he splashes like crazy and looks so intense about it while he does it - he always cracks us up. I finally caught a little bit of his crazy splashing antics on video. His splashing went on for about 10 minutes tonight, until I finally took him out of the tub because I thought the water was probably getting a bit cold. He really doesn't like getting out of the tub, and as usual tonight he immediately started to cry. I think we may have a future Michael Phelps, minus the height...

Bumbo Chair

When Oliver turned three months we celebrated by getting him a Bumbo chair. He still slouches in it quite a bit, but we think he looks pretty hilarious when he sits in it.

Giggles and Rolling Over

We are having so much fun with Oliver. It is great to watch his personality emerge.

In the last few days we have heard more giggles from Oliver - Matt and I get so excited every time we hear it. At this point we are having a hard time pinpointing what it is he will find funny and it seems that he always is demanding new material because it is rare that same old bit will make him laugh twice. If anyone has tips for some sure fire baby laughing material, please send it our way! Last night in the bathtub he found his squirting whale toy to be hilarious.

Also, Oliver has consistently hated "tummy time" and just this week he has discovered how to remedy the situation. As soon as we put him on his tummy he now rolls to his back and gets a big smile on his face because he knows he has averted the dreaded "tummy time". It is so cute and he looks so proud of himself that I usually don't have the heart to put him back on his tummy...

The Outer Banks

We just returned from a trip to the Outer Banks and Oliver had a wonderful time! Matt's uncle Fred and is aunt Barbara hosted the whole family. We spent time at the pool, at the beach, playing games with family, napping, reading - it was great! Oliver was able to meet a bunch of his second cousins. Everyone loved him very much!

A Visit from Carolyn

Our very dear friend Carolyn came for a visit to meet Oliver. We had a great time, with a couple of nice dinners out, a little shopping, a trip to Minnehaha Falls, a BBQ, a photoshoot and a lot of time just admiring Oliver. Thanks for visiting Carolyn! Come again soon!

Mom and Baby Class

Oliver and I took a Mom & Baby Class during maternity leave. Every Monday from 11:00-12:30 we got together with other moms and babies that were born withing two weeks of each other. It was lots of fun and we met some really great people. Here is a photo of the other kids in the class.
